Argentina - Employment & Labour

New system to inform non-remunerative items to employees.

A new information system was created requesting employers to inform, before the payment of the corresponding monthly salaries, the "non-remunerative" items paid, the legal ground that support the categorization of the non-remunerative payment as such and the total amount paid for those items.

Overall resolution n° 3279/2012 – AFIP.

New "Promoted Companies Information System".

On March 14 the new "Promoted Companies Information System" was approved. It will reach industrial projects under the extent of law 22.021. The norm is in force since its publication and will be applied to all activities started after May 2.

Mendoza. More efficient file system provided to Companies.

Mendoza's Labor & Social Security Under Secretary adopted a resolution that provides companies, at their request, to save labor documentation through a micro-images system.

Resolution n° 1295/2012 – Labor & Social Security Under Secretary.

Rise in pension contributions

AFIP informed the new values for self employed and a rise in the salary cap for the calculation of pension contributions.  In both cases the increase depends on the Pensions Mobility Law index.

RELEVANT BILLS

Employment Contract Law. Indemnification ceiling & social benefits

Argentina's Congress is treating a draft bill to modify the Employment Contract Law in many substantial points. They include modifying the limit of the indemnification ceiling, bonuses and non monthly social benefits.

Approval is pending.
