BIOGRAPHY OF MARY BEAUREGARD
Mary Beauregard, Intercultural and Diversity Consultant, earned her B.A. in Secondary
Education from the University of Detroit, where she specialized in French, and
English. She continued her graduate studies in Adult Education and Training at the
University of Michigan.
After living in Europe, she began teaching French at the High School level and for a
period of 15 years enjoyed interacting with students and directing international travel
programs. Beauregard began working with automotive executives teaching English as
a Second Language and French for business purposes where she became increasingly
aware of the impact of culture on behavior and thought process. In 1996, she took on
the role of Cross-Cultural Training Director for an international business
communications firm in the Midwest. In that capacity she recruited and identified
qualified individuals to conduct business-focused diversity and expatriate training, and
has assisted country-specific cultural experts in developing programs for Europe, Latin,
America, the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
Beauregard designs and facilitates programs on Multi-Cultural Diversity, Cultural
Adjustment, Team-Building, Cross-Cultural Competency in Real Estate, and Cross-Cultural Effectiveness in the Global Workplace for corporations worldwide. Her
experience with German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Middle Eastern
and Mexican nationals has given her a greater insight into the importance of
understanding not only social behavior driven by cultural norms, but also business
values and expectations. Over the last several years she has conducted cross-cultural
and intercultural training in the U.S., the U.K, Europe, Latin America and Asia for
General Motors, Ford Motor, DaimlerChrysler, Toshiba, Yazaki, Nissan, Carhartt, Lear
Corporation, Cathay Pacific Airlines, and Delphi Automotive just to name a few.
Her
expertise is working with groups and individuals to identify their personal level of
cultural adaptability and help them develop the necessary skills and strategies for
successful communication and interaction in a diverse work setting or a culture
different from their own.
Beauregard and her team developed a copyrighted model for examining intercultural
relationships and continue to expand their reach into identifying the benefits of living
and working in a multi-cultural world.
